B: Physician
I wanted to thank you for all the help you given recently with my breast cancer patients. My patients and I really do appreciate the help you provide and navigating them through the system. It is very difficult to get the diagnosis of breast cancer and is very overwhelming. The patient's find it very helpful to receive a call from you and then have these help set up for appointments. They feel that someone is watching out for them and making sure things are done properly. I think this is an invaluable service and just wanted to let her now.

Mission

The mission of Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation is to provide support solely to Good Samaritan Medical Center by identifying, cultivating, and securing resources for charitable, educational and scientific activities.

Background Statement

The Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation supports the Good Samaritan Medical Center, located in Lafayette, Colorado. Good Samaritan Medical Center is owned and managed by SCL Health System.

SCL Health System (SCLHS) is a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that operates eight hospitals, four safety-net clinics, one children's mental health center and more than 190 ambulatory service centers in three states - Colorado, Kansas, and Montana. The health system includes 15,000 full-time associates and more than 500 employed providers.

Based in Denver, Colorado, SCLHS is dedicated to improving the health of the communities and individuals it serves, especially the poor and vulnerable. In 2012, SCL Health System contributed more than $250 million in community benefit, including services for the poor, health screenings, educational programs, community donations and research.

SCL Health System was founded by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, who trace their origin as a religious community to the 1600s in France, where Saint Vincent de Paul and Saint Louise de Marillac established the Daughters of Charity. These women were dedicated to serving the sick and poor through an active ministry.

SCLHS was formed in 1972 to strengthen and unify the healthcare facilities sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. SCLHS' rich heritage and enduring legacy serve as the foundation for its health ministry today, and its mission, vision and values serve as the framework for its success.

Both the SCL Health System and the Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation are governed by all-volunteer Boards of Directors.
