The Golden Visitors Center is a charitable, educational and informational center that:
Is a mechanism to collect, distribute, exhibit and showcase information;
Supports the needs of visitors, residents, students and local businesses;
Facilitates a strong business, education, government and community partnerships;
Supports the efforts of civic and cultural organizations, local government, chamber of commerce and other community groups
Provide linkage between visitors, residents, students and businesses; and
Contributes to the prosperity, health and welfare for Golden, the greater Golden region, including the State of Colorado.
The Golden Visitors Center, Inc. was created in 1995 as a 501(c)3 Colorado nonprofit corporation for charitable and educational purposes.
The Vision: To provide a community facility that supports the economic vitality and quality of life for Golden and the surrounding greater Golden Community.
The Board of Trustees recognized the need for a central location and began planning a home for The Greater Golden Chamber of Commerce and the Visitors Center that would welcome guests to community and provide a meeting place for the citizens of Golden.
Construction of the Visitors Center began in 1996 and the dedication of the new center was in May of 1997.
