A nonprofit organization

The Golden Visitors & Information Center, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, has welcomed over half a million visitors to the Golden community since it's opening in 1997, and also serves as a meeting place for local organizations and groups. GVIC depends on donations to cover expenses.

Mission

The mission of the GVIC is to serve as a charitable, education, and information center that supports the needs of visitors, residents, students, and local businesses.

The GVIC facilitates strong partnerships with the chamber of commerce, civic and cultural organizations, non-profits, and local government.

Background Statement

The Golden Visitors & Information Center, Inc. was created in 1995 as a 501(c)3 Colorado nonprofit corporation for charitable and educational purposes.

The Vision: To provide a community facility that supports the economic vitality and quality of life for Golden and the surrounding greater Golden Community.

The Board of Trustees recognized the need for a central location and began planning a home for The Greater Golden Chamber of Commerce and the Visitors Center that would welcome guests to community and provide a meeting place for the citizens of Golden.

Construction of the Visitors Center began in 1996 and the dedication of the new center was in May of 1997.
