GoFarm envisions a local food system that is equitable, resilient, environmentally sustainable, and inclusive. One in which farmers and farm workers have the resources they need to thrive and farm safely, community members have reliable access to healthy, local, and sustainably grown food, and everyone feels inspired to engage in their local food community.

At GoFarm, we use a system approach to strengthen our local food system (how food gets from Colorado farms to our plates). We focus on how we grow food, how we distribute food, who can access and afford food, and how we build community.

Testimonials

"Fighting Hunger at Mines is thrilled to be in collaboration with GoFarm. The weekly pickups are easy and help us address food insecurity on the Colorado School of Mines campus. We are able to ensure that between 20 - 50 students weekly have access to nutritious locally sourced food every week. GoFarm has also been a great resource for us to collaborate with as we attempt to help address food insecurity in the Golden community. We know this relationship will only continue to grow!"
- Dylan M. Colorado School of Mines Student

"Not only does GoFarm provide us with nutritious food that nourishes the land and soils, but they support the local community through working with local farmers and expanding food access to everyone in the community. GoFarm allows us to uphold the responsibility we have in caring for our environment and community."
- Sara S.

“We don't make enough to live and pay our bills, but we make a little too much to receive any benefits. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Especially for your kindness and support. We are also artists and teachers. We love supporting local. Knowing we are supporting local farms and businesses makes us so happy. And it’s educational for our children.”
- Nicole T.

"The food we are getting from the Market is a real life-saver, and so delicious! It's been a tremendous help to us in meeting our goals of providing our children with the best possible access to healthy produce. And we've gotten to try a few new things, which is exciting."
- Heather M.

"Being a GoFarm shareholder has completely revamped how we see and prepare food at our house. We consume more produce (YAY!) than ever before, and we are much more conscientious about what we are putting into our bodies and how it makes us feel! It has been our own personal science experiment towards being healthier humans!
- Lisa H.

Mission

The GoFarm mission is to train and support local farmers, connect people with local agriculture, and increase equitable access to nutrient-rich food grown in Colorado.

Background Statement

GoFarm was founded in 2014 due to a growing need to build a robust local food system that secures fair prices for farmers, promotes environmentally-sustainable farming practices, and makes sustainably-grown food affordable and accessible to everyone in our community.

We have since expanded to four main community-serving programs:

- Community Food Access Program: We reduce barriers around accessing and affording local food and invite everyone to be part of their local food system. We run a mobile market shopping experience at sites where there are greater barriers to access fresh food. We offer a flexible pricing model so people can pay what works for them. Market sites include the Arvada, Head Start in Arvada, Eaton Senior Living Community, Juanita Nolasco Residences, and Littleton Hospital. GoFarm also provides fresh produce to local food banks, school organizations, and other partners who are addressing hunger in our community. GoFarm welcomes SNAP Benefits, Double Up Food Bucks, and offers a discount program.

- Farmer Development and Support Program: Support and training for beginning and local farmers who use sustainable growing practices. We help beginning farmers start or expand their own farm. We provide training, mentorship, business courses, technical assistance, access to land and water, and more! We also provide community building events for local farmers, and offer a tool rental library to help local farmers save farm costs. We champion sustainable growing practices that are good for our planet and our health, as well as promote racial equity within the local agriculture industry.

- Local Food Share Program: We connect over 800 community residents with a season's worth of fresh, locally-grown food every year. We partner with over 50 local farmers to provide food for our members, and we provide all the resources our members need to bring the food home and have fun preparing it!

- Community Education Program: Educating about the local food system and instilling a greater sense of joy and appreciation for the food on our plates. We host workshops, farm tours, and food system talks to help more people feel part of their local food system!
