Friends of Manual High School

A nonprofit organization

Manual's programs facilitate scholars to be critical thinkers and problem solvers to close the achievement gap. We hope that you will not only become informed about us but that you will be moved to help make a difference in the futures of our students.

Testimonials

"When I told all my friends from my old school that I was going to be attending Manual the following semester of my sophomore year, they basically laughed in my face and said it was bad academically, and the students here were ghetto BLAH BLAH BLAH. And I said how do you know... you haven't even been there to know? You haven't even gave it a shot. Manual has given me opportunities and opened doors for me that I never would have even dreamed possible at another school. I'm getting damn near a full ride scholarship to Regis, I'm concurrently enrolled in a college down the street (CCD), already getting a head start on my math credits. I was taking advanced placement courses as a junior and now currently as a senior. Manual's administration has only wanted the best for us students and I can finally see that being true." ~Taonna, Class of 2019

Background Statement

Friends of Manual High School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the academic achievement and overall high school experience of students at Manual. Friends of Manual was started about 10 years ago by a group of alumni committed to public education in Denver and with a desire to find ways to connect in a positive way with their alma mater.

Friends of Manual High School has evolved over the past several years to truly reflect the notion of "friends" and seeks to bring a diverse range of stakeholders together to provide a greater sense of community and enthusiasm to the Manual campus. We also hope to demonstrate leadership in reclaiming the legacy of constructive activism and pride that has long been associated with Manual.
