We would like to honor the late Jan Kardatzke, an incredible woman who helped shape FISH into the organization that it is today. Jan volunteered at FISH for more than 12 years, and during that time she served on the board, helped develop programs, and was the first volunteer coordinator (as a volunteer herself!). She also helped grow FISH's Adopt A Shelf program and coordinated the holiday boxes that they distributed from their old building.
Jan spent her life making a difference. She was a beloved teacher at Emerald Elementary School for 26 years, winning Teacher of the Year in 2005. She helped coach tennis at Broomfield High, was a Girl Scout leader, served on the Broomfield Library board, actively participated in the Broomfield Bird Club, and played with the Eagle Trace Ladies Golf Group. Jan was truly an inspiring member of our community. Her presence will be deeply missed by all of us, but her legacy of giving back will continue!
