Fort Collins Soccer Club

Our Scholarship Program provided over $80,000 in scholarships last year to children unable to afford to play soccer. Every child deserves the opportunity to play soccer and be part of a team. Providing assistance to those in need is an investment in the quality of their lives and in our future.

Fort Collins Soccer Club Scholarship Program

Recreation & Sports

Children ages 5 to 21
General Public
Poor/Economically Disadvantaged
Adolescents/Youth (13-19 years)

The Fort Collins Soccer Club Scholarship Program was created in 1980 to help with the costs for youth to participate in soccer without the financial means of support. The program benchmarks against City of Fort Collins Parks and Recreation programs and Federal Reduced or Free Meal Programs for qualification. It is intended to help low income and at risk youth who would like to participate and receive coaching and mentoring in a team atmosphere. In addition to the physical benefits of soccer, participation can offer camaraderie, friendship, leadership, respect, social skills, goal setting and teamwork, resulting in a positive mental experience as well as physical experience.

Evidence of Program's Success

The need is increasing each year. In fiscal year 2017-2018 the FCSC budgeted $75,000 and spent $80,500 on scholarship. This amount gave 550 recreational and competitive players the ability to afford their soccer fees.
