Background Statement
Flatirons was founded in 1999, and successfully sent its inaugural team to the Junior Olympic Championships in Louisville, KY. Since then, our club has fielded numerous successful teams ranging in age from the 18s level to the 12s. Many of our teams have finished their seasons ranked in the top ten of the region in their age category; many more have also reached the top five of their age division. Our teams have traveled to national qualifying tournaments in California, Austin, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Orlando, Spokane and, of course, Denver. Flatirons teams have experienced marked success at these challenging tournaments. In 2007, the 18 National team took 5 th in the club division at the Far Western National Qualifier. In addition, this team won 5 th at the prestigious President's Day Classic Tournament in Omaha, NE. And, the 16 National team won the Bronze division at the Pacific Northwest National Qualifier. In 2008, three of our teams ended the season tied for 5 th in the Rocky Mountain Region - can you tell we're very proud of them? Every Flatirons athlete who has pursued the
opportunity to play college ball has realized that opportunity.
