The Estes Valley Land Trust preserves the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park by conserving open space, incredible scenery and healthy wildlife habitat forever. Every person who lives in or visits the Estes Valley will benefit from your generous support of this mission.
From Vaughn Baker, RMNP Superintendent, 2002-2015
"The Estes Valley Land Trust is a critical partner for Rocky Mountain National Park. Over its 30+ years of existence, the Land Trust has worked to conserve lands on the Park's boundary, in important wildlife migration routes, and to protect scenic views from the park. Rocky needs partners like the Land Trust to help meet its mission of conserving the Park for present and future generations. Donations to the Land Trust play a critical role in carrying out that mission."
From Travis Machalek, Town Administrator, Town of Estes Park
The Estes Valley and the lands that surround it are true national treasures. The National Park and National Forest lands that surround Estes Park protect a great deal of this beauty, but local foresight and leadership is as important in keeping this place special for generations to come. The Estes Valley Land Trust is the clear leader in this area, ensuring the protection of land throughout the Estes Valley and surrounding areas by developing successful partnerships with the Town, private property owners, and other entities.
From James Frank of James Frank Photography, Inc.:
"Having lived in Estes Park for more than 30 years, I've learned that protecting open spaces and view corridors is an obvious benefit to residents and visitors alike. No organization has done more to preserve and protect these spaces than Estes Valley Land Trust. Their good work and dedication to the land will live on far into the future for the enjoyment of generations to come. My hat's off. Thank you, Estes Valley Land Trust."
The mission of Estes Valley Land Trust is to preserve and protect open space, valleys, wetlands, streams, ranch lands, and wildlife habitat in the Estes Valley and surrounding area. Lands adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest are of special concern.
EVLT began in 1987 as an all-volunteer organization with an appreciation for the beautiful areas of the Estes Valley and a passion to preserve those areas. For 20 years, dedicated volunteers worked to fulfill this mission with amazing accomplishments.
In 2007 staff were hired to provide administrative leadership, coordinate monitoring on more than 150 conservation easements, fund raise and pursue additional land protection efforts.
The following year, EVLT submitted an application for national accreditation and became part of the first class of 39 accredited land trusts in the country. In 2019, that accreditation status was renewed for a second 5-year period through another rigorous application process.
As EVLT continues to conserve important scenery and habitat, it is making a commitment to serve the future generations in the Estes Valley forever.
