Mission
The mission of Estes Valley Land Trust is to preserve and protect open space, valleys, wetlands, streams, ranch lands, and wildlife habitat in the Estes Valley and surrounding area. Lands adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest are of special concern.
Background Statement
EVLT began in 1987 as an all-volunteer organization with an appreciation for the beautiful areas of the Estes Valley and a passion to preserve those areas. For 20 years, dedicated volunteers worked to fulfill this mission with amazing accomplishments.
In 2007 staff were hired to provide administrative leadership, coordinate monitoring on more than 150 conservation easements, fund raise and pursue additional land protection efforts.
The following year, EVLT submitted an application for national accreditation and became part of the first class of 39 accredited land trusts in the country. In 2019, that accreditation status was renewed for a second 5-year period through another rigorous application process.
As EVLT continues to conserve important scenery and habitat, it is making a commitment to serve the future generations in the Estes Valley forever.
