Help the Estes Park Salvation Army Service Extension Unit help the residents of the Estes Park Valley with food, eviction prevention and uti

$395

raised by 7 people

Since October 2019, the Estes Park Unit has spent over $41,000 to help 170-220 people a month with food boxes at our food pantry, provide 740 warm meals a month, and helped 48 families cover their rent, transportation expenses like car repairs, medical expenses, emergency lodging, and utility bills. We spend $22,000 for our food program, which includes supplying our food pantry housed at Crossroads Ministries with enough food to provide more than 200 food boxes a month, and $500-$1,100 a month on our Estes Park Meals on Wheels program that provides up to 800 warm meals delivered by our volunteers to 40 elderly residents every month. Due to COVID, we are receiving requests for help with food more than ever, and it is vital for our Meals on Wheels program to continue in Estes Park. In addition, we help residents with bill assistance relief if they cannot afford to cover all of their bills, and due to COVID, we have had many people lose their paycheck. We assisted 10 families with emergency lodging due to having to vacate their home due to fire, helped 10 families with transportation expenses like gas or car repairs, three families with medical expenses, helped nine families with their rent and provided utility bill assistance for 10 families. During the evacuations of the recent wildfires, our Unit volunteers served as a liaison between Estes Park and Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services to keep them updated on our needs. Your donation will be put to good use to help Estes Park, and this holiday season we need your donations more than ever to help us help Estes Park.
