Thank you so much for your consideration of DHOH! At our core, we are horse people who are passionate about equine welfare. Our horses are our clients and we are proud to know that the horses that come to DHOH find quality care, kindness, and dedication. Happy Holidays!
Drifter's Hearts of Hope is a horse rescue and rehabilitation center that strives to circumvent the slaughter pipeline. Horses at our facility are rehabilitated, evaluated, trained and eventually adopted out to forever, loving homes.
In 2014, Drifter's Hearts of Hope was founded to give at-risk horses a second chance at a forever home. More than 400 rescue horses have found loving, forever homes, through the efforts of the volunteers, donors, and supporters. Our efforts are supported solely by donations, adoption fees, sponsorships, and A LOT of volunteer sweat. We are fully volunteer-run, which means that every dollar donated to the rescue goes directly to the horses. Would you like to get involved to help us save horses?
Wow...this is the BEST, most Professional Horse Rescue I have ever been too! Clean, well taken care of horses, and the volunteers are AMAZING! Colleen, Jaqui and all the other volunteers were dedicated to finding me EXACTLY what I was looking for....TAHOE! We are SO blessed to be allowed to offer him his FOREVER home! - Erin Slivka, Adopter and Supporter.
I have worked with Drifters the last few years on retiring our horses with them through the Annie Project, and they are hands down a top notch organization that ALWAYS puts the needs of the horses first. They take exceptional care of all their horses and will do whatever it takes to help them find their forever homes. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this organization, the people that work there, and everything they do for our horses through the Annie Project and horses in need of rescue. Thank you Drifter's for being one of the best rescues out there and for ALWAYS putting the horses first!! - Ami Cullen, Annie Project Partner and Supporter.
I can't say enough great things about DHOH. The people who run it, volunteer their time are top notch. The facilities are beautiful and maintained. We moved from TX to CO in early Sept. 2020 with our 2 ottbs (both rescues and one old/retired). Sadly my younger horse got colic and passed in Oct. leaving my senior distraut. I searched local rescues, visited DHOH, adopted a horse from them. Loved him and DHOH so much that I adopted a 2nd a month later. - Judi Belling, Adopter and Supporter.
I love working with DHOH! I had been looking for a horse for over a year, and suddenly there was Phantom! They were honest and willing to work with my schedule, and they have so much integrity! I love love love my DHOH horse so much, and I hope to adopt from them again in the future! - Courtney McCall, Adopter and Supporter.
Volunteering for DHOH is hands down one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences. Not only is there the joy and satisfaction you feel for the care you give these beautiful creatures but also the confidence and experience gained in working with rescue horses. DHOH puts SO much time, energy and love into these horses to make sure each and every single one receives special attention. I could go on and on, but you'll just have to come see for yourself! - Dani Ross, Volunteer and Supporter.
We just adopted 2 horses, Ghost and Cabo, from DHOH on Monday and cannot say enough about these horses. They are affectionate and so happy to be here. We feel blessed to have them and want to thank Jackie for all her help in choosing just the right horses for our family. Please make the decision to look at some of their horses. Give some of these animals a chance to regain their trust in human contact and enjoy the results. - Karen Julien, Adopter and Supporter.
