Since beginning operations in Texas in 2015, DreamSpring has provided over 500 loans totaling more than $5.8 million to some 450 small businesses in 132 communities across the state. DreamSpring's work is creating tangible economic impact in Texas, with an estimated 1,143 jobs created or sustained by the organization's client businesses.
Serving Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas, DreamSpring is a pace-setting microlender with a reputation for innovation, accountability, and impact. In 2017, Charity Navigator rated DreamSpring a four-star organization for the ninth year in a row. Only 5 percent of charities in the nation have earned this distinction. DreamSpring is certified by the US Department of Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution.
Our Needs
DreamSpring provides loans between $1,000 and $1 million to entrepreneurs who face barriers to securing business credit from traditional financial institutions. DreamSpring also offers training opportunities and other support services to those who want to start or expand a small business.
With your support in 2020, DreamSpring will continue to reach underserved entrepreneurs and deliver one-on-one financial education and business technical assistance to hundreds of Texas entrepreneurs. Through this work, DreamSpring will increase access to much-needed affordable business credit, along with complimentary pre- and post-loan support to help entrepreneurs successfully grow their businesses and build vibrant local economies.
Indeed, small businesses are the heart of local economies, creating jobs, and increasing entrepreneurs' financial independence and security. DreamSpring places particular importance on serving low-income, minority and women entrepreneurs. During 2017, 90 percent of DreamSpring's Texas clients were low-to-moderate-income, minority, or female borrowers. DreamSpring's clients are hardworking individuals who have chosen business ownership as a means to create jobs, provide for their families, and give back to the community.
