Mission Statement

Douglass PTO strives to support the well-rounded education of children in Douglass Elementary School, to improve the quality of education and the total school environment by supporting and funding the academic and environmental goals set forth by the School Accountability Committee, to serve in an advisory capacity to the principal of Douglass, and to work in a collaborative forum with the principal and staff to facilitate effective site-based management.
We work to raise funds through fund-raising activities that shall be used for educational projects and other educational activities for Douglass' students, faculty and staff.
We act as a coordinating body, for all members of the PTO who would like to volunteer their time at Douglass, and to provide a structure for communication among students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators and member of the community.

Organization History

What if you could donate cash today to PTO and know that 100% of your money is used by the school? We think this sounds like an amazing idea.

As state and local school budgets shrink, our PTO budget must compensate. The Douglass Elementary PTO's funding goal for this campaign is $80,000! If every parent donated an average of $200 for each of their students at Douglass, then we would reach our goal.

Your donation:
--100% supports the teachers and students (minus fees)
--100% tax-deductible

But let's be honest here: Not having to sell wrapping paper? PRICELESS

This school year, the Douglass Elementary PTO won't be asking you or your students to sell wrapping paper, candles, or candy. Instead, we are asking you to invest in our teachers and students by donating online (and to share our campaign with your friends and families too).

If we can meet our fundraising goal, here is what our PTO will do for our school:
-- Pay over 2/3 of our Paraeducators' salaries
-- Provide teacher appreciation all year
-- Provide funding for student events, materials, and clubs
-- Fund technology licenses and classroom startup costs
-- Support school requests as they come up throughout the year.

With most catalog fund raisers, only 20% to 40% of the proceeds go to the school. By donating online, you ensure that your tax-deductible donation goes directly to the teachers and students. We can more than quadruple the amount of funds that will support field trips, school events, classroom projects, and in-school educational programs.

Please donate today and share our campaign link with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors. You can pay online today securely and easily. (Just click Donate Now and then choose "Nonprofit's Discretion" from the drop-down menu on the payment screen.)

Some company's will also match your monetary donation. Is your company one of them?

Thank you!

Testimonials

"My donation to Douglass PTO goes straight to the school and is spent on things that directly benefit my child. They work hard to spend carefully, and have the best interest of the children in mind."
