Mission Statement

Our mission is to serve ALL kids and the whole kid. We believe in the power of physical and mental fitness to change lives. Tennis can do this. LETS DO THIS.

Organization History

The project converted a well-located but underutilized property into a facility serving three core users year-round: the breadth and mission alignment of this user base facilitates mentoring, coaching, and personal development opportunities across all ages, genders and socioeconomic backgrounds.

DU, DPS and DTP usages are complementary during the academic year when junior outreach programs are primarily conducted offsite. During the summer, the facility serves all partners with an emphasis on site-based outreach, advanced training, and collaborations with other youth-serving organizations.

A master site feasibility/planning exercise was completed November, 2014 which identified multiple benefits to the greater site and surrounding community as a result of this project including traffic and safety, aesthetics, site drainage, economic benefits to surrounding businesses.

The project's location at DPS' All City Stadium and adjacency to South High School provide for ready integration of DPS' programs into the facility. The All City site serves as an athletic facility for all DPS schools.

DTP's programs are engineered to be financially self-sufficient and to function collaboratively with existing local youth tennis initiatives. Nationally, there are several comparable, well-established and successful tennis facilities which are serving as operating models and advisors for the DTP concept.
