Testimonials

"She came home beaming from ear to ear…she bounded in and said "I think I have finally met my people!" then she went on to name the countless ways that you made her feel loved, heard and connected with all while steering her straight to the One and Only that can guide and satisfy. I just could never tell you in words that would make you see the answer to prayer this is for her dad and me. Honestly. So thank you for being willing to take steps that brought you here to Denver and for being obedient to the call. One night in, and we are grateful for your example and impact already in the life of our dearest." --Mom after her daughter's first time at KLIFE

"I met a mom when I was at See You At The Pole and told her about KLIFE! Her son, Will, came the next week. Will has high-functioning autism. Jackson, and many other leaders and kids, did an amazing job of including Will and getting to know him. He came to Torchy's with us after Klub, and he and Jackson talked the entire time. His mom told us later that he came home beaming and could only say great things about KLIFE. She told us that last year he was suicidal and depressed, and there has been such a shift this year because of the community the Lord has provided Will with. Since his first visit, he has not missed a Klub!"

"We talked on suffering a few weeks ago and Kristen shared about some of her family's sufferings--addiction, death, and cancer. After Klub, Isabella, a girl who always comes but never really engages, pulled Kristen to the side and said she had a sister who had a brain tumor and a brother who was an addict. She asked Kristen how she could really believe that God was good in the midst of all of her suffering. It was so cool to see this girl who never really seemed to be listening really start to press in!"

"There was a girl at our Girl's Night event who truly was only there because God wanted her to be. It is so clear in how she has come upon KLIFE that God is pursuing her. We know that her family has no background/interest in Christianity or any religion for that matter. After Girl's Night was over, she texted Natalie and told her that the message really struck her and she was interested in joining a KLIFE small group. Natalie told her to bring a Bible to small group and she texted Natalie, "I am so excited, I just got a Bible from my friend for tomorrow but I have never even read a Bible before. Is it okay if I just bring the app from my phone? I guess I can bring my Bible but I just don't even know how to approach it." God is working in the hearts of these kids & He truly is using everything we do to plant seeds! She hasn't come to small group yet, but that fact that she now owns a Bible and has heard the Gospel is a huge victory!"

"We have an 8th grade student who is on fire for Jesus! Since giving her life to Christ this summer, she can't stop sharing sharing her faith with those around her. Lauryn has been a KLIFE student since 6th grade and has had an awesome experience with her small group leader, Sydney. Recently, with the help of Sydney, she chose to share her testimony to her entire 8th grade class at school for a speech assignment. Her school, though with the label of being private and Christian, is anything but. Their school pastor is a self-proclaimed Universalist, and thinks Lauryn going about sharing her faith is "very offensive." Lauryn has decided she wants to start a bible study at school - even without the support from the school "pastor" and the hardship of being continually mocked by her peers and friends. The pastor was against the idea at first - stating that it was inappropriate for the school, but finally agreed to let Lauryn lead the study at lunch with the conditions that 1. He is allowed to be her co-leader and 2. she remove the cross from her posters she made to advertise the group. We are AMAZED at Lauryn's faith. This is truly an example of a student accepting the gospel and desiring to equip those around her."

Mission

Denver KLIFE exists to point students to Jesus so they can know Him, love Him, walk in surrender to Him and be equipped to point others to Him also.

Background Statement

Denver KLIFE began in 2004 as a community-wide, interdenominational Christian ministry of discipleship and fellowship for youth and their families. Although affiliated with the national KLIFE Ministries, Denver KLIFE operates under a local Board and receives no funds from the national organization.

KLIFE organizers acknowledge that the teenage years can bring extreme physical, developmental, social and psychological changes that leave young people vulnerable to society's negative pressures. In order to foster strong youth development in Denver, KLIFE's programs support 4th through 12th grade students attending public and private schools in South Denver through small group and one-on-one mentoring, leadership development, and community service opportunities. KLIFE networks youth from different churches, and those without a church affiliation, to build positive, Godly relationships that can withstand the negative peer pressure so prevalent in today's youth culture.
