Mission Statement

The Davis Phinney Foundation helps people with Parkinson's live well today.

Organization History

The Davis Phinney Foundation was created in 2004 by Olympic medalist and retired professional cyclist, Davis Phinney, to help people with Parkinson's live well today. The organization's focus is to provide programs and resources that offer inspiration, information and tools that enable people living with Parkinson's to take action that can immediately improve their quality of life. Through The Victory Summit® event series, Every Victory Counts® manual, intergenerational Sidekicks™ program, Ambassador program, funding of quality of life research and extensive online content, the organization impacts hundreds of thousands of individuals each year.

"Shortly after I was diagnosed I learned about a Davis Phinney Foundation event. I attended with my family in an effort to learn how to take care of myself. It was fabulous! It armed me with knowledge, assuaged many of my fears and gave me hope for the future."

"The Every Victory Counts manual is the most honest, insightful, inspirational and genuinely helpful compilation of information I've seen about Parkinson's. Every doctor who tells a patient they have Parkinson's should make sure that person leaves their office with an Every Victory Counts manual. It's a support group in a book."

"For the first time in a long time, my wife and others around us were 'ALIVE.' Thanks for giving us positive things to look forward to instead of letting Parkinson's control our lives."

"I have known for 20 years that I have PD, and you would think I would know a lot. But this day has taught me so very much, and I promise I will be using it!"
