"The Courageous Faces Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with rare or severe medical conditions. The Foundation fills the void for some of the society's most vulnerable population through our Faces of the Foundation Program by providing opportunities, products, and services which will have an immediate impact on their lives."
For most of us, everyday trials might include sitting in rush hour traffic or a pair of pants that don't quite fit anymore. For those with a rare or severe medical condition, everyday challenges are beyond anything the rest of us can even imagine: loss of freedom due to the inability to drive at all; the inability to purchase clothing that fits; or frequent medical treatments and hospital stays. Through our Faces of the Foundation program, the Courageous Faces Foundation provides help & support to improve the quality of life for these amazing individuals and their families. Through this much needed support we help them to rise above their medical condition, and work toward living their best lives-even getting to the place where they can pay it forward and help others.
Each Face of the Foundation is provided with items and services specific to their individual needs to enrich the quality of their lives. They are provided with fantastic opportunities to attend conferences related to their condition and foundation galas & workshops, where they are not only included, but celebrated for who they are! Our Faces of the Foundation and their families become part of our foundation family for life, where surrounded by those facing similar challenges, they grow to focus on what they CAN do instead of letting their condition define them.
Meet Reggie, one of our Faces of the Foundation:
Reggie was born with an extreme form of Neurofibromatosis, which causes tumors to grow along the nerves. For the first 40 years of his life, Reggie stayed safe within his home and neighborhood avoiding people, their stares, and cruel comments. His left leg below the knee has a 28" tumor which makes it difficult to get around, and impossible to wear regular clothing. Just to begin each day, Reggie was spending 30 minutes a day sewing his pant leg together. Courageous Faces Foundation reached out to find a custom clothing designer to make Reggie custom pants that he can quickly put on each day, just like the rest of us.
Reggie now has a beautiful custom suit, multiple pairs of pants, shirts, jackets, both dressy and casual and his first pair of jeans! Proud of how he now looks, Reggie truly became the million-dollar man, feeling "normal" for the first time in many, many years. The Foundation then went on to have custom orthotic shoes made to protect his foot and cover the tumor.
Reggie is now one of the leaders of the Courageous Faces Foundation's "Just Ask" program. This program helps people like Reggie to reach out to others, educating them about his severe medical condition, changing perceptions by sharing his story and showing others that he is no different on the inside than anyone else.

AT A TIME!
Sylvia Koblence Farbstein- parent of a Face of the Foundation
"All it takes is one person to speak up and share their story. The Courageous Faces Foundation goes beyond our expectations and breaks every barrier between us all. Our titles, backgrounds and circumstances are not who we are, but rather our hearts are what bind us. Here's to celebrating our uniqueness."
Johnny Quinn, Face of the Foundation
"You've organized my life's ambitions and goals so much! You've strengthened my platform as an individual in society, you inspired and cultivated me to be so much more confident than I thought I could be. We've shared laughs together, inside jokes etc. You're the greatest people I've met in my life, and that's the truth. In just these 2 years my life has been impacted with unimaginable amounts of joy and hope for a positive future.
Your foundation and everyone in it is making this world a better place little by little. I'm beyond blessed to be a part of your lives. I look up to all of you so much."
Reggie Bibbs, Face of the Foundation
"Courageous Faces Foundation are people that were willing to accept me, I didn't know- it really changed me; made a big, tremendous difference in my life. We are people just like anyone else. If we are confident, it will make people more accepting of who we are. The Foundation is making a difference in all of us. It's very important for them to continue because it's making a difference in a lot of people's lives. I'm so thankful because I feel that I can make a difference. It's a blessing."
KJ Yates, Face of the Foundation
"Relaxing in my new bed! It is very comfortable and allows me to be elevated, which helps with my breathing. I have slept much better, and have the Courageous Faces Foundation to thank for this. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life!"
