Description

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs has partnered with the Comitis Crisis Center to provide food, clothing, and shelter to homeless veteran women and their children/immediate family.

This program meets a key unmet need in the Rocky Mountain Region. Though we see many homeless men claiming to be veterans, most homeless veteran women are not on the streets, but are staying with friends and/or family.

We created this program to meet this large, yet largely unseen need.

Poor/Economically Disadvantaged/Indigent

Description

Comitis provides temporary (average 6-8 months) of shelter for TANF referred homeless families that are seeking to become permanently housed, gainfully employment, and economically self-sufficient.

Core to our philosophy is family unification. Therefore, Comitis keeps families together within the shelter and does not separate, for example, men from their children.
