Mission

To advance the understanding and prevention of mental illness, promote mental health through education and advocacy, and support psychiatric research.

Background Statement

The Colorado Psychiatric Foundation is the charitable arm of the Colorado Psychiatric Society. In 2008, CPS established a separate 501(c)(3) Foundation to advance the understanding and prevention of mental illness, promote mental health through education and advocacy, and support psychiatric research. Past projects have included providing funding for honorariums to authors published in the Mental Health Stories Project and giving small grants for programs at other organizations. For example, the foundation funded a collaboration between the Stout Street Clinic and Urban Peak to target services for unhoused youth between 16 and 24.

In 2023, the Colorado Psychiatric Foundation generously supported organizations serving refugees, the unhoused, LGBTQ+ youth, physician health, and those with chronic mental illness, among others!
