Mission

COPMOBA is a member-supported, nonprofit organization of volunteer mountain bikers that advocate for mountain biking in western Colorado by building and maintaining sustainable singletrack in connection with our communities.

Background Statement

COPMOBA was formed in 1989. Major accomplishments include: Built, developed, mapped, and opened the 138 mile Kokopelli's Trail; developed, mapped and opened 100 mile Paradox Trail, completing the final link of the region's Grand Loop of mountain biking; participated in the North Fruita Desert (18 Road) and McGinnis Canyons NCA (Kokopelli) trail planning and development process, building and maintaining many of the trails in both areas; developed a partnership with Grand Junction BLM Field office to build and maintain many of the trails in the Lunch Loop trail system; and built the Palisade Rim trail in Palisade, CO. Since 1989, the organization has expanded to other areas of western Colorado with four active chapters: Grand Valley Canyons (Fruita, Grand Junction, Loma, Palisade), Delta Area Mountain Bikers (Delta), Ridgway Area Trails (Ridgway), and Montrose Uncompahgre Trails (Montrose). All chapters advocate for, build and maintain singletrack mountain bike trails.
