Mission Statement

Through education and advocacy The Network provide opportunities for individuals to improve the quality of their lives, give back to the community through meaningful roles, and to change perceptions of mental health.

The organization seeks to provide individuals with skills they determine necessary to achieve their personal goals.

The Network maintains that individuals are the experts in their own recovery and promotes this in all programs and activities.

Organization History

The Network is a grassroots, peer-run organization committed to mental wellness education and advocacy in Colorado. Since 2002, The Network had operated as program of a larger mental health organization. In late 2010, The Network's statewide advisory board made the decision to move forward with incorporation (2011) and independence (2013) to better serve and represent the consumer community. In the three years since its incorporation, The Network has grown considerably and has become a recovery leader in Colorado.

The Network's ultimate goal is to provide people with hope, ensure that recovery is highlighted in all aspects of mental health care, and work to reduce stigma so it does not prevent people from seeking treatment. For The Network, that means work on the micro level to provide individuals with tools and skills to achieve recovery. On the macro level, The Network is addressing the state's fragmented behavioral health system and issues with the mental health workforce. We fill an important niche in the continuum of healthcare services, we are there for people who feel lost and confused about their diagnosis and treatment.

"CMWN know the actual, real, authentic struggles that come with having a mental health challenge. People here do not talk about the issues, they live the issues and that makes all the difference."

"This organization transforms lives"

"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to empower myself and to move forward in my recover. This class was awesome and I would love for everyone on this road to have the same training and experience. It really can change lives with all the knowledge it gives."
