The mission of Christian World Outreach is to participate with the body of Christ in responsible evangelism, to bring dignity, self worth and encouragement through leadership development, and to meet the physical needs of people through humanitarian assistance.
CWO was founded in 1977 after a visit to Haiti brought the devastating poverty and immense need to the attention of a group of individuals who felt that something had to be done to improve the conditions for the people of Haiti. Leaving Haiti with a sense they needed to do something that would make a difference, CWO was formed. At first CWO focused work on conducting evangelistic youth camps for young people (ages 13 to 30). CWO has now grown to an organization that provides medical clinics, vocational training, leadership development, children's feeding programs, HIV/AIDS prevention education, AIDS orphan assistance, youth camps, educational libraries, discipleship, evangelistic outreach and more. Currently, CWO operates in three African countries including Burkina Faso, Zambia, and Zimbabwe as well as continuing its work in Haiti.
"My husband and I entrust our giving to CWO because we have seen firsthand how they utilize our resources to bring the gospel to the nations. Through email updates and communication, we get to experience exactly what our giving is accomplishing in the lives of those we long to minister to abroad. We have shared in the joy of the missionaries as we've watched the hurting be comforted, the hungry be fed, and the lost come to know Christ. God is moving and at work among the missionaries and staff of CWO. It is a true honor to get to be a part of that work."
