Mission Statement

Children's HopeChest exists to glorify God by releasing the potential of orphaned and impoverished children and their communities. We do this through partnerships that cultivate two-way transformation.

Organization History

HopeChest was founded in 1994 in response to the devastating needs of orphans in Russia following the fall of the Iron Curtain. Today, HopeChest operates "CarePoint" communities in seven countries: Russia, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Guatemala, and Moldova. The CarePoints serve as safe places to meet all aspects of the well-being of vulnerable children and their caregivers. HopeChest does not seek to create temporary relief; instead, we recognize the need for holistic, long-term transformation of the sectors of society where the children live. HopeChest currently serves more than 34,000 individuals over 110 CarePoints across the globe.

Testimonials

"Antioch has been involved with orphan care ministry through short-term missions for the past thirteen years. However, we resonated deeply with the strategic and personal nature of the Community-to-Community partnership model for long-term transformation. Participating in the Vision Trip was instrumental to our decision to partner with HopeChest. It was on the ground, directly interacting with staff and people, where we were able to see the integrity of service, excellence of ministry, and authentic love for people in action."
Pastor Jayde Duncan, Pastor, Antioch Church, Colorado Springs

"HopeChest has a great model which focuses on assets rather than needs. The goal is sustainable transformation in communities and in the lives of children. I've met the leadership and staff in the US office as well as the HopeChest staff in Guatemala. They are so committed to the lives of the children and the CarePoints in various countries. The children receive nutritional support, education and spiritual and emotional development. Child sponsors are encouraged to build relationships with their children by visiting them at their CarePoint. CarePoints vary from schools to nutrition centers to sports academies to training centers and more. Consider traveling with HopeChest to a foreign country on a Vision Trip and visit several CarePoints. It will be a life changing experience for you!"
Deb Knauft, HopeChest Partnership Leader

"When we, The River, were a young church, partnering with Children's HopeChest gave us the ability to reach an impact far beyond our means. Leaning into their experience, expertise, and global network empowers us, with limited resources, to partner with a village (now our friends) in Uganda. That partnership has radically changed the village and to a greater degree us."
Rob, Lead Pastor, The River Church

"We came across Children's HopeChest and we were blown away by their vision, which went hand-in-hand with what we wanted for our students…It's not just driven by us as administrators-it's driven by the students."
Ryan, Principal, The University School

"I am so grateful to Children's HopeChest for educational support and for equipping me with all the requirements needed in my course training. I'm so grateful that, with this wonderful skill in making clothes, I will be able to sustain myself and my family in short time to come. I'm thankful to Children's HopeChest for empowering me with this skill. May the Almighty God bless Children's HopeChest and the donors at large."
Agnes, Tailoring Participant, Ogoloi CarePoint in Uganda

"With your support, we are directly serving the children who are at the CarePoint, and indirectly serving their parents. Their lives are improving and they hope to grow more and become self-dependant. Most of the children are working hard to bring change in their life. Their parents are also working for the betterment of their lives. It is your support which encouraged them work and change their lives. Therefore, I would like to appreciate your contribution for the wellbeing of our community." Kefele, Accountant at Hitata Genet CarePoint in Ethiopia
