Children (4-12 years)
Families
Infants/Young Children (birth - 3 years)
Single Parents

Description

Children's Garden of Learning (CGL) believes that everyone should have access to high quality early childhood education experiences and has developed 3 different programs to distribute grant and fundraised funds to families in need. These programs are developed to ensure every family has access to high quality child care that meets the needs of working families.
Financial Aid
Financial Aid is based on the parent's ability to pay, much like Financial Aid for higher education. When families apply with us, we calculate their annual gross income, the number of children using childcare, the number of days they attend childcare, and the annual cost of that care. Families who are under 300% of FPL will qualify for the program. The CGL Financial Aid program uses the federal guideline which recommends families do not spend more than 20% of income on child care. Children's Garden of Learning then pays the amount above that which parents can afford.
Emergency Tuition Assistance Program
Families who are in need of temporary tuition assistance due to medical issues, temporary unemployment, or other family hardships may speak with administration about applications for assistance.

Scholarships for Extended Day Program
Limited scholarships are available for the after school program. Eligibility is based on work schedule and funding.

Evidence of Program's Success

The first year was extremely successful with $17,002 going directly to scholarships in a 7 month time period. Based on next years current participation we are anticipating over $30,000 to be spent on scholarships.

"I have been a single parent for about 2 full years. My son Camden and I have been living on our own in Avon. I have worked for vail resorts for 8 years, and as a lift mechanic on Gondola 1 since it was being installed in 2012.......When Children's Garden of Learning responded to my request to receive help with tuition I couldn't believe it! I was finally catching a break in this valley and would be able to stay in the area I moved to and new I wanted to spend my life in. No more moving plans, no more new job searching and no more having to say goodbye to all the great friends I had made in my new home. It's hard to put into words how much relief this program has brought to me and to Camden. Without this program I would not be able to afford to stay in this valley. The fact that I am now able to get Camden the best care and best educational experience in the area is truly unbelievable. I am and will always be eternally grateful for this program and for the people working for this wonderful non-profit organization."

Description

Please support us in bringing enrichment activities to the students of Children's Garden of Learning. Reggio Emilia is a living philosophy, one meant to adapt, evolve, and respond to the families embracing it. At CGL we strive to create a community-centered culture blends with the best of progressive education and responsive teaching to help make learning a way of life. These funds would allow us to continuously adapt our programming based on investigations around the school and provide the program with access to music programming, nature programming, and art instruction/resources.
