The Children's Foundation

The Children's Foundation is a non-profit which provides funding through individual contributions and fund raising events for Casa Hogar Los Angelitos (CHLA), a children's home in Manzanillo, Mexico. which provides homes and care for homeless, abandoned, orphaned, desperate and abused children.

On the morning of Saturday, July 13,
2013, ten students and three adults
from LifeSpring Covenant Church of
Loveland, CO took off for an amazing
week at Casa Hogar Los Angelitos in
Manzanillo, Mexico.
Little did we know the week would
hold, such a warm welcome, generous
hospitality and life-changing
moments. The trip was a win for
everyone because the kids at CHLA
were impacted by the love and
presence of the students from
LifeSpring and the students from
LifeSpring were also very much
impacted by the love and presence of
the kids at CHLA.
It's not everyday we take intentional
time to share our hearts, love, and
stories with people who come from
different countries, cultures and
backgrounds, but when we have those

opportunities, what
often gets highlighted
is the amazing
amount of similarities
rather than all of our
differences.
We loved playing
with the kids at
CHLA, acting out
Bible drama, singing,
painting casa 2, doing
crafts and practicing
Spanish and English.
Another highlight
was the trip to la Lima and the migrant
worker camp which sparked
conversation about the perpetuation of
injustice due to injustices of the past.
Everyone surely enjoyed a little time at
the beach and some great stories and
jokes from our amazing chef for the
week, Felipe.
What an amazing chance for our
students to bless others and step out of
their comfort zones in order to catch a
glimpse of God's loving presence at
work throughout all nations of the earth.
