Testimonials

"It gives me a place where I belong and a way to openly and accurately express myself."- Student, Ink the City, when asked how their life is better because of art.

"The docent program is an amazing program for students to learn to talk about art. It gave them greater self-esteem to tell others about the art gallery" - Teacher, Challenge to Excellence K-8 who participated in the Mobile Art Gallery

"I was very impressed with the training of student docents. They were well prepared and knew their assigned artworks. I like the concept of student docents presenting the artwork overall rather than having students and community members read from a brochure. They become more invested and interested and a lot of great dialogue begins to happen." -  Teacher, Rocky Mountain Deaf School who participated in the Mobile Art Gallery

"Being a judge for Student Art Buying is a highlight of my summer! Speaking with the students about their experience in selecting and negotiating prices with artists; it is amazing to see their enthusiasm about the process and their pride in finding extraordinary art for their schools." - Panelist for Student Art Buying Showcase

"The skills promoted in the CherryArts Student art-buying program directly reflect the creative dexterity we want all of our students to cultivate—the ability to work as a team, to negotiate and advocate for their opinions and thoughts, to reflect on the world around them, create awareness, speak to a greater audience, and impact positive change."- Lone Tree Elementary

"This program has given our school an opportunity that we would otherwise not have, to be able to have professional art that helps us show our pride for our school community and culture. We value and appreciate how the arts can bring us together as a community and school family"-Valdez Elementary School

"The exhibit was beautiful! The kids gained valuable experience and built their vocabulary by acting as art critics and writing about the art" -Teacher, Flood Middle School

"Many of my kids had never been to an art gallery. I explained that this was a gallery that had come to us, and they were very excited about being able to go on an 'in-school field trip." -Teacher Flood Middle School

Background Statement

Art for Everyone, All Year Long

CherryArts is a Denver-based nonprofit that believes in two fundamental things:

1. Access to art is for everyone.

2. Artists are essential.

We support artists and arts education through interactive outreach programs and the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Our organization has been a leader of Colorado’s art and culture industry for more than thirty years.

We Turn Art into Impact!

Students need art now more than ever. In fact, multiple studies have shown that art has the power to improve mental health, boost confidence, and increase resiliency —those are just a few of the ways art is good for us. CherryArts education programs bring art to students throughout Colorado all year long through innovative programs.
