The Carbon Valley Help Center relies on the assistance of people and corporations to donate food, funds, and time. We accept non-perishable food and monetary donations which are tax deductible. Donations will support our grant program, daily operations, and our Growth Fund.
I can't say enough about the Carbon Valley Help Center as an agency. They have been there in times of need for me and my family, in more ways than one. Life has highs and lows and last year the CVHC was there for us. Some months we were not sure where our next paycheck would come from. They have assisted with food, toiletries, our electric bill and car repairs. Without this agency I would have not had a safe reliable car to get my son to and from school, the food to feed our family and power (electricity) to cook a meal. Helping people in the carbon valley in immediate need move toward self-sufficiency. We do this by offering food assistance, financial assistance with rent and utilities, and referral assistance to programs available in the region.
Local businesses, churches, and the towns of Firestone, Frederick, and Dacono realized there was a growing need for assistance in SW Weld County. Knowledgeable board members from The OUR Center in Longmont guided a small group of citizens through the non-profit start-up process. Funds were donated by the towns, local businesses and churches and CVHC opened it's doors in February of 2013. In the beginning the only services offered were non-perishable food and case manager referrals to services offered in Weld County. In 2017 the financial grant program was added to assist our clients who needed help paying utility bills and rent. The need is growing as evidenced by our clients who numbered 485 in 2016 and 1,127 in 2017.
