The Carbon Valley Help Center relies on the assistance of people and corporations to donate food, funds, and time. We accept non-perishable food and monetary donations which are tax deductible. Donations will support our grant program, daily operations, and our Growth Fund.

One-time financial grants are awarded to assist clients in paying utility bills, rent, and auto repair. The purpose of the grants are to help clients get through a temporary financial crisis. Clients are eligible for financial help from our agency if it appears that they will return to self-sufficiency in a short time.
Many of our clients come to us when their water or power has been disconnected. By dealing directly with the water or power company, we get their service reconnected. Some clients can only pay a portion of their rent and we can provide the missing portion directly to the landlord. The help center recently facilitated auto repair for a local veteran who was living in a van. With our connections, the cost of the repair work was shared by two veterans organizations and the repair company donated their labor. Thanks to a 3rd organization, that veteran now has a subsidized apartment and will be starting a new job this month.

Once per month Carbon Valley residents in need of food can register as a client and receive non-perishable food for themselves and their families. To register the client must complete an application form and show a drivers license and proof of residence.
We have many clients who live paycheck to paycheck. When disaster strikes in the form of an unexpected bill or adult children moving home with elderly parents, or any unforeseen expense, food is an expense that can cause huge stress. CVHC hopes to defray food costs by providing many staples which will allow clients to purchase only perishable items. Often our pantry receives toiletry donations which are distributed to clients to defray the cost of those items.
