Testimonials

"COPPeR is a vital part of our community - I'm grateful for all they do to bring us together through the arts!" - Daisy McConnell, local artist and Executive Director of UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art

By working with COPPeR and PeakRadar.com, we have been able to expand our market within the Pike Peak region, which helped us set new box office records in 2014 and make it our best season ever." - Chris Armbrister, Thin Air Theater Company

"Even though I am a native of Colorado Springs, it is difficult to keep up with everything. I have learned about a number of new groups in town that have helped enrich my life. The wealth of arts-related experiences presented on PeakRadar.com has been surprising."

Mission

Connecting residents and tourists with arts & culture.

Background Statement

The need for a coordinating arts agency emerged from the 2003 Arts Summit attended by about 150 in the local arts community. At the time of the Cultural Office's founding, Colorado Springs was the largest city in the country without a professionally-staffed cultural office. Though such offices typically operate as part of local government, Cultural Office founders believed that a nonprofit organization would be more effective, more inclusive and more community-driven.

The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR) was founded in 2006 to promote the creative arts industry in its entirety, including strengthening local arts nonprofit organizations, promoting better business practices within the creative industries, and leveraging individual artists to showcase the value creative arts bring to our community by enhancing economic development and raising our quality of life.
