Mission Statement

The purpose of the Council is to build an Early Childhood system for the children of Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Lincoln counties. To provide a comprehensive, high quality, coordinated and accessible system of support of early childhood systems through collaborative community partnerships and resources for all children and families to ensure they are healthy and thriving as part of a caring community.

Organization History

The Cheyenne, Kiowa, Lincoln Early Childhood Council (CKLECC) became recognized as a State Council in 2012. In January 2017, CKLECC began to function as its own 501(c) (3) organization. In the formation of CKLECC, partners realized the importance of leveraging the limited resources available in our three frontier counties to fill the gaps in Early Childhood Systems. CKLECC is recognized as a valuable resource to parents, early childhood providers, educators, and community organizations. CKLECC works to increase the access and availability of licensed child care and supports our early childhood professionals by advancing their qualifications. Success has been had by offering professional development, supporting the quality of child care and preschool programs, offering coaching services, offering financial support, a scholarship program, and providing encouragement to those looking to enter the early childhood field. On October 1, 2017 CKLECC became the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency for all three counties. This role involves supporting existing providers and the recruitment of new providers.
