Mission Statement

Colorado International Language Academy Mission Statement
Provide a rigorous academic program, designed to make the student fluent in English and another major language and culture; provide an academically challenging, content-rich curriculum; develop citizens of good character and discipline.

Organization History

Colorado International Language Academy, as it is now, was founded in 2019. The school and its language immersion program had been in existence under the collaborative of Global Village Academies since 2013. The Board and school leadership decided to split from the collaborative in 2019 and operate independently. Our language immersion program and focus on cultural diversity and immersion have remained the same!

Testimonials

"Three of my children attend CILA and are having a very enriched, positive, and academically rigorous educational experience. Along with being immersed in another language, they are learning about other world cultures and how to be accepting, respectful and embrace diversity. When a problem arises, the school staff has worked quickly to solve the problem and improve their educational practices. This school is a wonderful learning community for my children!"

"I was very impressed by my daughter's language acquisition and reading level in kindergarten at CILA and I am grateful for her experience there. I love the diversity that is within the community, which is rare for Colorado Springs."

"My daughter has attended CILA since Pre-K and is now in the 4th grade. Beginning in 1st, she was switched into their dual language program, which means she learns in Chinese for half the day and Spanish for the other half. I have been consistently impressed with not only her language acquisition, but also her academic gains. She is in the GT program and scores in the 99th percentile for math every year. As a teacher, I understand the challenge of keeping a high performing student consistently performing high and to not drop. My daughter's test scores reflect her growth, which is a credit to her teachers. She is thriving at CILA and I highly recommend this school, as they emphasize educating the whole child through language, culture, and academics."
