Mission

Please join Buena Vista Heritage in preserving and sharing our local history for the education and enjoyment of the public. The Historic Courthouse Museum, the Denver South Park and Pacific Depot & Turner Farm are all in need of funds for operations. Our goal is to preserve, protect and restore any historical sites, building and artifacts pertaining to the Town of Buena Vista, Chaffee County, as well as areas in central and/or western Colorado. We want to recreate and share the special stories unique to our area.

Background Statement

Over the 40 years that Buena Vista Heritage has been in existence, our organization has become an integral part of the community, building a solid reputation by focusing on our mission and by providing educational and tourism opportunities.

Our history can be summarized as typical early struggles, followed by two decades of calm and then 10 years of rapid growth. We have now entered a mature phase of the organization, focusing on sustainability and stability.
