Discovery Education Program

Arts, Culture & Humanities

Beneficiaries

Adults
Children ages 5 to 21
Children (4-12 years)

Description

The Discover Education Program is designed for students in grades 3-6 and includes 50-minute interactive concerts at Macky Auditorium, each with an optional 45-minute in-school visit with a chamber music ensemble, and a bilingual listening and learning guide for teachers. These concerts introduce live symphonic music to a population across three metro-Denver counties, including Boulder, Adams and Arapahoe Counties. Many students describe this experience "the best field trip of the year!" Music Director Michael Butterman visits classrooms to introduce students to musical concepts, instrument families, music appreciation skills, and more. The program includes free tickets for participants to a regular Main Series concert through the "Students at the Phil" program.
