As one of Colorado's premier ensembles, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra is creating a new model for American orchestras through dynamic performances that reflect our community's values, creativity, and sense of place. Founded in 1958, the Boulder Phil is a critically acclaimed professional orchestra performing in Boulder and across the metro-Denver region. Now in his twelfth season, Music Director Michael Butterman innovative approach to programming, highlighting accomplished guest artists with an emphasis on Boulder's own creative community. The Boulder Phil reaches more than 50,000 audience members each year at Macky Auditorium and other venues, as well as through a variety of education and community outreach programs.
Community engagement efforts in recent years have resulted in creative collaborations with an impressive 50+ local organizations encompassing the arts, sciences, nature, youth, and social services.
