Help to give the youth of Montrose a safe place where they have homework help, life skills, and most of all the opportunity to be a kid. $3 provides one student an hour of homework help. 50% of your donation will be returned on your state income tax with the Child Care Tax Credit.
The Club saved my life. As a young person, I was a club member for many years. I grew up in the club and became a Jr. Staff, I was given more responsibility and more opportunities to be a role model. Once I was old enough I became a staff member. In my senior year with the Club I was given the privilege to represent the Club at the state competition. I didn't win the competition but it gave me a unique perspective no one else had. After graduating college and getting a job I didn't think the Club saved my life, but it did.I came back to a town where most of my friends from high school had fallen into trouble with drugs or the law. The Black Canyon Boys & Girls Club started in 1999 in Montrose when a dedicated group of people saw the need for a safe place for the youth. Over the years we have moved and grown in ways the original group of people ever imagined. The Club is stronger than ever and it is because of the hard work of the original people. The Club is currently working to create a new home for the Club and double the number of youth we serve.
