BethHaven Incorporated

Currently, we are wanting to open another facility to support 10 more individuals. We were able to purchase the property adjacent to our other two buildings and are looking to raise funds for the remodeling and updating of this building to meet current regulations for assisted living facilities.

Description

BethHaven provides structure and consistent routine to the daily life of its residents. We provide three healthy meals and three snacks every day. Our staff monitors medication and make sure that all medicine is administered properly and consistently on time every day. BethHaven also provides transportation to all medical appointments and manages the refilling of new and ongoing prescriptions. There is a well-trained and educated staff person available 24 hours a day. The staff is able to maintain a comfortable and calm living environment, can competently handle crisis situations, and is available to just sit and listen to a resident if they need to talk.

BethHaven also offers an activities program. The Residential Coordinator oversees the activities and BethHaven provides transportation and supervision of all outings. During the past year BethHaven residents have gone to numerous movies, sporting events, bowing alleys, shopping malls, camping and hiking trips, work in the garden, scenic drives and coffee shops. These activities offer the opportunity to get exercise, see the beauty of Colorado and develop social skills in the community and amongst peers.

Evidence of Program's Success

For most of our residents, BethHaven becomes their home. Over 35% of our residents have lived with us for more than 10 years. On average our residents have less than two visits to the Emergency Room due to physical or mental and emotional difficulties each year. Our staff knows our residents and we can intervene quickly when we see them struggling and have them talk with their doctor or psychiatrist before things escalate to require emergency services.
