Children in our community and their families are facing food insecurity now more than ever.Â
We are partnered with local schools in Douglas County & Littleton School Districts to reach students ensuring they have enough food on weekends & school breaks.

Our mission is to remove food insecurity as an obstacle for children so they can grow, learn, and thrive.
Located in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Backpack Society was established in 2019 with a mission to alleviate hunger among schoolchildren. We started by partnering with 1 school and now partner with 44 schools in 2 school districts.
We are 100% community funded. The majority of our donations come from individual donors. We are also supported by businesses through our sponsorships programs, community organizations, in addition to local grants.
We have 4 programs:
-Student weekend food bags (6 easy to prepare meals)
-Family Food Boxes (produce, meats, dairy, eggs & pantry items)
-In School Pantries (quick snacks so teachers don't have to buy them)
-Crisis Boxes (24hr supply of food & basic toiletries)
