"It's wonderful. They are helping my son a lot. They help him with his homework. The programs are great. There is great communication. The team at Bennett is excellent."
Rosa Petri, Parent

We LOVE Elaine. She takes what she does seriously, and my son has benefited from that in BASE Camp. This is definitely not daycare- it's extended learning, and Elaine loves to teach her kiddos about science. Her enthusiasm for what she does is evident, and we cannot say enough about BASE Camp at Beattie!

Background Statement

B.A.S.E. Camp has provided before and after school care for school-age children in the Fort Collins and surrounding communities since the fall of 1988. Organized as a non-profit program to meet the needs of families whose children were in self-care, B.A.S.E. Camp fills a unique niche in community services with its sliding fee based program and age appropriate activities for children at their elementary schools.

From the beginning, B.A.S.E. Camp has recognized that two major factors contribute to school age children being in self care. First, school age child care is a luxury for many families therefore, the Board of Directors of B.A.S.E. Camp has pledged to raise the needed funds to support up to one-third of those children attending to do so on reduced fees based on family size and monthly income. Second, the activities provided must be age appropriate. School age children enjoy being with their friends and participating in activities they have helped to plan and that are appropriate for their age level and interests.

In addition to the 30 school age program sites, preschool programs are offered to three outlying schools in the mountains and rural areas west and north of Fort Collins where community services are not available. All are part of the Colorado Preschool Project with a focus on early learning and school readiness.
