$15,000 Goal

Access Unbound makes the empowering world of outdoor recreation accessible to people with disabilities.

In the Vail Valley, the mountains aren’t just scenery. They’re a source of joy, exhilaration, and connection. We believe that every person, regardless of physical or cognitive ability, deserves the chance to experience that feeling.

Adaptive sports are more than recreation.
They are confidence-building.
They are empowering.
They are life-changing.

With the right support, individuals with disabilities can discover independence on snow and dirt, build friendships, and feel the pride of trying something they once believed was out of reach.

Your generosity opens the outdoors to everyone.

When you give, you help ensure that children, adults, locals, and visitors with disabilities can take part in unforgettable moments and accessible adventures in Eagle County. Your impact looks like:

Accessible Ski and Snowboard Lessons: Your support means more people can enjoy lessons with a professional adaptive certified ski or snowboard instructor right here in the Vail Valley.

• Adaptive Cycling: Your support helps bring individuals with disabilities together for group rides. These sessions will help communities bond and help individuals challenges themselves.

• Summer adventures: Your support helps people with disabilities enjoy rafting, side by side tours and fly fishing.

• Education and Training: Support our efforts to strengthen the adaptive ski and snowboard instructor community. We sponsor ski and ride instructors to get their adaptive certifications.

Mission

Our mission is to make the empowering world of outdoor recreation accessible to people with disabilities by hosting inclusive programs, providing crucial financial support and partnering with professional adaptive programs.

Background Statement

Access Unbound marks 10 years of making outdoor recreation accessible for individuals with disabilities. Since 2016, Access Unbound has supported more than 2,000 adaptive snow sports lessons and awarded $700,891 in scholarships.

The past two seasons were our strongest yet. With donor support, 130 participants took to the slopes with expert adaptive instructors who tailored each lesson to each person’s needs. Together, they experienced more than 2,000 hours on the snow.

Now, Access Unbound is ready to grow beyond winter. We are expanding summer programming to include hiking, climbing, rafting, and adaptive biking. Our first bike outing launched on June 15. These programs gave participants more than a single day outside. They created confidence, connection, movement, and community across the year.
