A Woman's Place, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Established 45 years ago, A Woman's Place (AWP) provides free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence.  As the only domestic violence safehouse in Weld County, AWP is a critical lifeline for our community.  Our eight-bedroom facility provides shelter and crisis support while empowering survivors to rebuild their lives.

We are an inclusive organization assisting all survivors of domestic violence and do not discriminate based on gender, culture, race, sexual identity or religious beliefs. In 2023, AWP delivered services to individuals in 16 languages.  AWP provides a 24-hour crisis phone line and emergency shelter programs including: safety planning, case management, legal advocacy, employment support, housing advocacy, behavioral health support, youth services, counseling, and emergency financial assistance for survivors.

Mission

Our mission is to shelter and help empower survivors of domestic violence to become safe, secure, and self-reliant, and to mobilize our community through education and collaboration to prevent domestic violence.
