Evidence of Program's Success

In 2018, our 39th year in Colorado, over 43,000 people attended our health fairs. 9Health Fairs were in 40 of 64 Colorado counties and 1 site in Nebraska. High Cholesterol was discovered by 68% of participants and Pre-Diabetes was discovered by 21% of those that had the A1c blood screening. Knowing your levels and monitoring them is an important part of a person's health journey. In addition, many participants had their blood pressure checked, talked to a medical professional about skin cancer and discovered new ways to deal with the stresses in their lives.

Over 2,000 participants received an alert call from our volunteer medical staff informing them to seek immediate medical attention. If they did not have a primary care doctor, we guided them to a listing of low-cost clinics near them.

Over 2,000 free blood screening vouchers were distributed to low income participants through our health fair sites or in partnership with community resource organizations.
