$1,000 goal

I need your help to return to Leadville, Colorado. At 4 a.m. on August 17, 2019 a shotgun will go off for the start of the 2019 Leadville Trail 100 Run. In order to toe the line I need to raise $1,000 in donations (in addition to the $1,200 I have donated).

You might be wondering why anyone would register and pay money to run 100 miles. For me, it's about signing up and being part of something much bigger than me and along the way meeting great participants, volunteers and organizers.

It's also a way to help others including beneficiaries of the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation and the Leadville community. The Legacy Foundation is a non-profit organization serving the Leadville community and donations to the Legacy Foundation help to fund:
- A $2,000 scholarship for every graduating senior who goes onto any form of higher education.
- The 'Legacy Early College Program' which covers the cost of textbooks and class fees for Leadville students looking to graduate High School with an Associate's Diploma from the local Colorado Mountain College campus.
- The Legacy Grants program, which provides funding to programs and initiatives working to build a better Leadville and support the local community. Recent funding includes the Community Garden and Greenhouse, new bike trails, youth leadership mentorship programs, the high school performing arts program, Tabor Opera House preservation and Search and Rescue equipment.

If you aren't familiar with the Leadville Trail 100 make sure to watch the attached video.

Thank you.
