As stated above, this fall I am participating in a Flyathon. A Flyathon is a multi-sport event that integrates three activities that are surging in popularity: trail running, fly fishing, and craft beer. The Driftless Flyathlon brings this epic combo to northeastern Iowa. While the Flyathlon started in Colorado, the Driftless event offers a unique perspective. Held annually in the Yellow River State Forest near Harpers Ferry, Iowa, the course features a mostly flat five-mile trail run with opportunities to catch rainbow trout, brown trout, and native Iowa brook trout.
Part of the participation requirement is for each participant to individually raise a minimum of $150 to support local coldwater restoration projects in northeast Iowa, so please consider donating if you are able.
