As a mom and lifelong early childhood educator, I know the profound impact that reading aloud with children can have on their development. Children who experience reading aloud show enhanced brain development and expanded vocabularies. Moreover, they tend to form stronger emotional bonds with their parents and cultivate an enduring passion for learning throughout their lives.

My two kids, Preston and Isabel, both love to read, and we have spent countless hours snuggled up together exploring books. Please help me give all Colorado children that opportunity by supporting Reach Out and Read Colorado today.

Spread the word, re-share this post, thank another early childhood professional, hug a teacher, tell a friend, and please consider a donation today!

Won't you join me in supporting Reach Out and Read Colorado this Colorado Gives Day?

Your donation will help support Reach Out and Read Colorado as we partner with pediatricians throughout the state to 'prescribe' high quality books and provide guidance for parents/caregivers at more than 290,000 well-child visits this year.

Reach Out and Read Colorado’s program not only provides underserved families with books to build home libraries, but it also promotes learning and skill building for both parents and children. The simple act of unplugging and reading a book together is proven to increase brain and language development, create strong parent-child connections, and improve kindergarten readiness— And when a child is set up for success from an early age, the possibilities and opportunities are endless!

Thank you so much for considering a donation to Reach Out and Read Colorado during Colorado Gives Day! Your support means so much to children across Colorado.
