I didn't think it could happen to me. I thought it only happened in the big cities. I was wrong. Relationship violence doesn't discriminate- it can happen to almost anyone- women AND men.
1/3 women (1/7 men) will experience violence by someone she/he is dating, living with, or married to at some point during their lifetime.
Over half of those individuals will experience violence or stalking BEFORE age 25- girls ages 16-24 experience violence and stalking at the highest rate of any population.
Hello, I'm Meg, Dating Tips by Meg- speaker and survivor of dating abuse, violence, and stalking. I, like most victims, didn't recognize the abuse until it became physically violent. I didn't know. I'd never heard of red flags...
Dating Tips by Meg's (DTBM) mission is to raise awareness on the early signs (red flags) of abuse to prevent escalation to violence. To let them know, if they are experiencing the signs, they are not alone- there is help available, and how to safely end the relationship. We also teach teens about what a healthy relationship looks like too!
DTBM teaches teens and young adults (middle school to college) how to spot love bombing, digital abuse, and stalking. Yes, this is happening to TEENS!!!
Dating Tips by Meg meets them with real stories that open eyes, connect. and engages with students.
