BV Pride Coalition is pleased to invite you to become a donor for our Pride Month Events, including the inaugural Seven Peaks Pride event on Sunday June 7th.
The Seven Peaks Pride event strives to show LGBTQIA+ families that our community is safe, welcoming, and values diversity and inclusivity for all. The inaugural theme is Play Without Limits, supporting all athletes being allowed to play. We will offer a family friendly potluck, Paws Pride Show, field day games, a community Voices of Pride choir performance, a sidewalk Parade and a DJ’d After Party.
Despite Colorado’s strong anti-discrimination laws, LGBTQIA+ community members in Buena Vista and the greater Arkansas Valley experience structural and interpersonal discrimination that adversely affects their well-being and drives disparate outcomes across crucial areas of life.
The goals of BV Pride Coalition include bringing together LGBTQIA+ community members, allies and advocates, local businesses, local government, law enforcement, the Buena Vista School District, and other local stakeholders to:
Ensure Buena Vista is a safe and welcoming community for all residents, workers, and visitors.
Lead and promote new and existing community-based programs and activities that cultivate mutual respect and understanding.
Support a healthier, more competitive and more diverse business sector.
Uphold and advocate for human and civil rights.
Your support will create a meaningful step towards a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and welcome. You will be creating a space that reflects values shared widely in Buena Vista - connection, inclusivity, and care for one another.
In addition to the Inaugural Seven Peaks Pride event, BV Pride Coalition will:
- Host regular monthly programming with Pride themes and activities.
- Will host a table at two Arkansas Valley Resource Fairs: Ark Valley Pride in Salida on June 6th and Leadville Pride on June 20th.
- Co-host a Community Book Read with PFLAG BV/Ark Valley that includes providing 80 copies of this is how it always is by Laurie Frankel to the Arkansas River Valley to read during the month of June ending in a Meet the Author event on June 25th.
We would be honored to partner with you or your business in bringing our Pride Month programming to life.
Funds will be used for permits, Marketing, Event Materials/Banners/etc., After Party talent, Prizes, giveaways, Games, and more. Any leftover funds will go towards 2027 Seven Peaks Pride and Pride Month programming.
