Hi everyone! I am running my first ever 5k to raise money for my employer, Jefferson Center for Mental Health.

Jefferson Center is a nonprofit, community-focused mental health care and substance use services provider. We offer hope and support to individuals and families who are struggling with mental health issues and substance use disorders.

OUR MISSION: To inspire hope, improve lives, and strengthen our community by providing mental health and related solutions for individuals and families.

OUR VISION: A community where mental health matters and care is accessible to all.

OUR VALUES: At Jefferson Center, it is our policy and our mission to create a welcoming, accessible, and person-centered environment for everyone who comes through our doors.

MY SITE: Youth Residential Recovery (YRR) provides care to youth in our community who are battling substance use disorders, helping them create safer, healthier, and an improved quality of life that’s possible and hopeful. As an ASAM 3.5 level of care, youth receive approximately 30 days of recovery support and care including post-discharge referrals and follow-up care.

MY ROLE: I am the Program Coordinator at Youth Residential Recovery, where I serve youth ages 13-18.5 in various stages of their recovery journey from Substance Use Disorder. YRR is truly a special and unique program, as it provides individual, family, and group therapy, as well as medical care, case management, and education to youth across the whole state of Colorado struggling with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders. The substance use epidemic is ever-growing amongst our youth and the resources for youth are extremely limited in this area. If you know me, you know how important my work is to me and YRR is no exception to that. As a newer member of the leadership team, I have been able to witness so much growth, patience, resilience, and a loving, compassionate community amongst our youth in the short month that I have been here. Our kiddos are facing so many challenges in their everyday lives (trauma, homelessness, gang-involvement, sexual abuse; just to name a few) and it is truly a blessing that we can provide a safe place for them to work towards their longer-term sobriety goals. Please consider donating to help us to be able to continue to provide our services and help the youth of Colorado achieve the safe, happy, healthy lives that they deserve!
