Girls on the Run (GoTR) has been dear to me since my days as a student at SDSU in the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
GoTR works with 3rd-5th grade girls to teach them about friendship, self esteem, and leadership through fun lessons and some physical activities. I was lucky enough to coach a season here in Morrison, and the girls learned so much and felt accomplished once they got to the season end. At the end of each season, every girl gets the chance to participate in a 5K race, which they can run/walk/sprint at their “happy pace.”
Every donation directly helps keep this program remain affordable and accessible to all. GoTR has a generous scholarship program, and most girls receive at least some financial assistance to participate in the program.
