2026 Colfax Marathon - Run for ELK!

Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK) is a local nonprofit that creates a sense of belonging, self-discovery, and adventure in the outdoors for underrepresented young people of color and their families, transforming youth into environmental stewards and trailblazers that promote equitable outdoor access, sustainable practices, and community uplift. 

After taking a few years off, ELK is back participating in the Colfax Marathon in honor of our 30th Anniversary. ELK staff, board, and friends are running and fundraising for ELK, an inclusive non-profit organization that is celebrating 30 years in the Denver community. This year the race weekend is scheduled for May 16th & 17th.

You can help support ELK via the Colfax Marathon in a variety of ways:

1. Make a gift to support ELK runners in the Colfax Marathon. We have a goal of raising $1,000. Help us make this a reality by sharing this page with your network!

2. Fundraise directly on ELK's behalf. You can share this page with your network and create a specific goal for your own fundraising.

• $500 helps provide a classroom of 20 under-represented students for a 4 week in-school or after-school science education program.

• $250 helps provide an ELK family of 4 with their first overnight camping experience.

• $100 helps support 10 ELK students on a field trip: college campus tour, stewardship project, corporate career, facility tour, etc.
