Wonderbound

About Wonderbound

Comprised of 14 dancers from across the country, Wonderbound is committed to the development of original artistic experiences that are artistically rich and highly accessible. Under the direction of Garrett Ammon and Dawn Fay, the organization develops original creations that rise to the highest levels of artistic excellence, hailed by audiences as equal to work seen on the nation's most renowned stages.

Though Wonderbound is a small nonprofit, pay equity is a top priority. Historically, artists have struggled to obtain fair compensation, and Wonderbound is proud that all its dancers are paid between $1,025-$1,125 per week for a 39-week contract - one of the best contracts nationally. The organization also provides health insurance for all its employees and covers 95% of the cost.

Capital Campaign

Wonderbound has owned its facility since March 2023. As it has been over three years, we need to raise funds for a building reserve to ensure we can keep our home in tip-top shape. This fund will allow us to proactively perform maintenance, upgrade production equipment and replace machinery BEFORE it stops working.

Wonderbound currently has Enterprise Zone status for Capital donations, and donors to our Capital Campaign receive a 25% STATE TAX CREDIT for cash donations and 12.5% STATE TAX CREDIT for stock donations. What this means is that if a donor contributes $100,000 via check to our Capital Campaign, the State of Colorado will send the donor $25,000 on their tax return in 2027. BUT, our EZ tax credit status expires on December 31, 2026.

Making a Capital contribution before December 31, 2026 guarantees you the maximum benefit for your generosity!

PLEASE NOTE: Enterprise Zone tax credits are ONLY available for Capital contributions. Capital contributions through donor-advised funds are NOT eligible for the EZ tax credit. The minimum donation to qualify for the EZ tax credit is $250. The maximum contribution to receive the 25% benefit is $400,000.

"Anyone who has seen a show at Wonderbound cannot deny each performance's unique and incomparable beauty and talent." (Thirst Colorado)

Mission

Wonderbound uses dance to deepen humankind's common bond through uncommon endeavors of discovery and creation.

Background Statement

By choosing Northeast Park Hill—a historically underserved neighborhood—as its permanent home, Wonderbound provides artistic experiences in an area long devoid of live theater. Rather than presenting its work in venues that may feel exclusive, the organization brings innovative productions to the heart of a diverse and economically challenged community, and this intentional placement ensures accessibility and fosters social cohesion.

Every season, Wonderbound supports creatives and collaborates with numerous artists across a wide range of disciplines. These multi-talented individuals include designers, composers, musicians, dancers, visual artists, and production crew. During any given season, Wonderbound works with over 45 artists – providing unique opportunities, meaningful artistic partnerships, and sustainable working conditions.

Guided by values that honor creativity, vulnerability, and collective experience, Wonderbound creates original dance works that explore the intersections of tradition and innovation while centering the power of art as a catalyst for human connection.

These values come to life through performances presented exclusively at Wonderbound’s home theater, which has become the epicenter of a growing community. Wonderbound is staunchly committed to creating meaningful, in-person experiences—so much so that the organization has chosen to present all its productions exclusively in this shared space, inviting audiences into a collective environment shaped by ingenuity, intimacy, and courage. This deep dedication to community-building has transformed Wonderbound’s theater into a destination, drawing patrons from across the region and all 50 states to engage in unique, immersive experiences.

Wonderbound’s productions are designed to unite rather than divide. Through original, narrative-driven storytelling, audiences are offered moments of escape, reflection, and emotional discovery—without prescriptive messaging or commentary. This enriches authentic connection, nurtures commonality, and reifies the beauty of our shared humanity.
