Kenzi's Causes works to support underprivileged children and their families in Colorado by providing toys, food, and more during the holidays, school supplies and clothing during the school year, and assisting families through community outreach, financial planning and professional support.

At Kenzi's Causes, our mission is to ensure that every child in Colorado, regardless of their financial circumstances, has access to opportunities, resources, and support to thrive.
Kenzi’s Causes was founded in 2007 in memory of Kenzi Bachus, who was stillborn when her mother, Jessica Bachus, was six months pregnant. That holiday season, Jessica collected approximately 150 new dolls for girls in the Denver metro area who might otherwise have gone without a gift. The effort quickly grew, with more than 500 dolls distributed in 2008 and 1,100 dolls provided to children through 33 local nonprofit organizations in 2009.
In 2009, Kenzi’s Causes—formerly known as Dolls for Daughters—became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 26-4678835). Today, our mission is to support Colorado children and families facing financial hardship by providing essential resources and opportunities that help them thrive.
Kenzi’s Causes now serves communities throughout Colorado through four core programs. Our Toy Shop provides new toys during the holidays; Packz4Kidz distributes new backpacks filled with school supplies; Kenzi’s Kidz offers year-round support and enrichment opportunities to participating families; and Sportz4Kidz helps cover registration fees, uniforms, equipment, and other costs that allow children to participate in sports.
What began with one mother’s desire to honor her daughter has grown into a statewide organization helping thousands of children each year. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners, Kenzi’s Causes continues to expand its reach and ensure more Colorado children have access to the resources and opportunities they deserve.
