The Noteables, a semi-professional women's chorus, has been delighting audiences in Chaffee County for over 40 years. Under the direction of the talented Linda Taylor, The Noteables present lively, eclectic, and just plain fun concerts that uplift, inspire and enrich. Accompanied by percussion, bass guitar, and piano, choral ensembles and guest musicians add variety to the biannual performances.
Mission
The mission of The Noteables is to provide affordable professional-quality choral concerts that uplift, inspire and enrich the community of Chaffee County and the surrounding area, and to provide its adult choir members with superior choral experiences that educate, inspire and enrich their lives.
Background Statement
The Noteables' Christmas programs include a wide variety of sacred and secular selections. Unusual arrangements of familiar carols, Celtic and multicultural songs, whimsical novelty pieces, gospels, and songs about winter make for a very versatile concert series. Accompanied by percussion, bass guitar, piano, and often flute, small choral ensembles and guest musicians add variety.
The Spring programs also include a wide variety of sacred and secular selections. Easter, Celtic, Broadway and multicultural songs combine with pieces about spring and renewal, spirituals, and just about anything the director wants to try on for size!
The Noteables director, Linda Taylor, is animated and energetic, and brings out the best in the chorus with her creative teaching abilities. She makes it a priority to have fun while learning good vocal technique. The group loves to move on stage and, though the concerts are informal and often engage the audience, the singing remains at a semi-professional level.
